Polka Dot lyf!!!

So if you're a regular reader you'll have seen loads of my posts have featured pieces from the vintage weigh and pay kilo sale, I absolutely love kilo sales and you get so much for your money. I can't wait to go to more events this year and pick up more bargains. Today's post features another great piece I picked up at one of the kilo sales. It's a gorgeous pure silk midi dress in a mustard yellow with white polka dots all over. I don't often go for a midi length as I'm quite short but I think this particular length works quite well. It has a double breasted effect with cross over front and double buttons, it does come quite low and was also a bit see through as it's a fine silk, so I wore a black cami dress underneath. I cinched in the waist with a chunky black chain detail belt to tie in the black. I went for black accessories with a fringe bag, velvet choker and my black fedora hat which I haven't actually worn for ages, I definitely need to get it back out more often! Finally I finished the look with my black patent ankle boots that have been my absolute go to boots the last few months, and they were only £12!!

Under the Sea.... The ultimate mermaid shirt!!!!

If you're a regular reader you're probably aware I'm a sucker for anything mermaidy and am a big kid at heart. So anything fun and with an underwater theme appeals to me greatly. So when I spotted this amazing shirt hiding in the rails at a vintage weigh and pay kilo sale I grabbed it as quick as I could. It's a loose oversized style in a chiffon like material with an amazing underwater theme print with fishes all over. The bright blue and greens are colours I love wearing so it was absolutely perfect for me and as it is so light it would've worked out super cheap as it barely weighed anything in the kilo. For this look I teamed it with a pu leather skirt in the same lime shade, you can't really see it in the pictures but it was more to cover my modesty as although the shirts super long it's sheer so I still needed some bottoms. I wore tights as it's still feeezing and some chunky platform sandals. I accessorised with a lime leather bag and some cute pompom bobbles, finishing off with a shell necklace to complete the mermaid vibe!

Pink to make the boys wink!!!

So it's January and what a dull month it usually is, everyone's skint and that's certainly the case for me and the weather is miserable. I do have a couple of plans for the month though to get me through, including my first gig of the year in a couple of weeks which I'm really looking forward to. I wanted to brighten up this dull month with a bit of colour and a colour I don't actually wear very often...pink!! Firstly I'm serving up total 90s realness with this cute pink sequin beret. I was on my way to work one day and saw it in the charity shop window and had to run in and grab it before I got my bus. It was only a couple of pounds and I absolutely love it, I'm also sure I had one pretty much the same in the 90s as a child, why do we never keep theses things! Going for a pink theme with this look and planning an outfit around the hat I teamed it with these vintage spotty trousers. I picked them up at the vintage weigh and pay kilo sale a couple of months back, they're so comfy and I love the 80s style. I wore a high neck black velvet top tucked into the trousers and a silky effect bomber jacket. Playing on the 80s vibe I wore a chunky chain detail belt to cinch in the high waisted style more. I wore a gold initial necklace and my fave vintage bag and finished off the look with some more pink with these metallic crossover sandals, which match the spakliness of the beret perfectly!!
