Going Green!!!

As you may have seen in my last post I had been fading my hair ready to try and tackle another shade. A couple of weeks ago I decided to take the plunge and go for green. It turned out so much better than I expected. It looks a different colour in every light and everytime I wash it, varying from greens to blues but I'm really pleased with the tropical green shade it is at the moment.

At the weekend I went for lunch with my friend then took her boyfriends dogs for a walk. Not usually something I'd do but it was nice to get out in the last of the summer sun and I thought I'd use the opportunity to try and take some pictures with some nice green scenery. The sun was quite blinding so it was hard to get good pictures but I thought I'd still blog them. I wore these fab leopard culottes that I got on sale in H&M last week for a 5er! Teamed with a fishnet top with lace bralet underneath. I wore my cute new dolly shoes I got from Primark last week which are going to be great for coming into Autumn. I accessoried with a layered necklace, chunky chain belt, backpack and round sunnies.

Lemon & Roses!!!

Last week we actually had a little bit of sun, so never wanting to let go of summer I had to get out some summer outfits. I got these fab multicoloured rose print shorts from work, somebody returned them from the Internet and they were my size and as we'd never had them in our store I felt like I needed them (I'm a buggar for doing this). But as they were in the sale and with my discount only worked out at £9 how could I refuse! I love all the colours in them but decided to pick out the yellow and team them with my lemon crochet bralet, and matching bag. I went for summery jewellery with my palm tree earrings and necklace and my foot stomper white platforms. This is my last post with orange hair (cry) as I have now changed the colour, I loved the orange and may regret changing it so soon but it was such a high maintenece colour so I thought it was time for change!

What I'm wearing.... Cream Crochet & Lace!!!

The sunny days are getting less and less and it really feels like we're on our way into autumn (cry). I'm gonna keep taking advantage of the sun when it does show it's face and wear summery clothes when possible, I so much prefer my summer wardrobe! So last week we had a couple of those sunny days, so I wore these fab lace trousers that I hadn't got round to wearing yet. I was struggling to find tops that went with them as everything I tried wasn't quite right. I tried them with this cream crochet fringe top and actually liked them together. I took the chill off with my floral/lace kimono I got in Brighton Tkmaxx for a 5er, absolute bargain! I've not had much chance to wear it yet and as it's quite summery I might not get to wear it again for a while so thought I'd make the most of it. I teamed the outfit with another bargain I got but hadn't worn yet, these fab glittery platforms I got on sale for only £6! I kept it simple with accessories with a layered necklace and silver metalwork sunglasses, and a mini satchel bag. Please ignore my faded hair in these pictures I'd been planning on changing it for a while so was in the process of trying to get rid of the Orange, so this is one of my final posts with this hair.

The Libertines @ Rock City

So The Libertines are one of my favourite bands and after seeing them at their comeback gig at Leeds Festival in 2010 I wasn't sure I'd ever see them live again. Fortunately that hasn't been the case, since they made an official comeback at Hyde park last year I've actually seen them quite a few times and they've gone from strength to strength each time. A couple of weeks ago they announced a mini club tour including my local venue Rock city, which is a fave gig venue of mine. I knew we had to get tickets and by some miracle we managed to snap a pair up!

We went for a few drinks and some food before so missed the support, we went into the venue 20 minutes or so before they were due to come on. The place was packed but we somehow managed to get to our usual place at the side of the stage. They came out on bang on time which was quite shocking starting with 'Horror Show'. The crowd went mental and it looked like it was raining beer for pretty much the whole of the song. They reeled off the classics playing all the firm favourites including 'Can't stand me now', 'Time for heroes' and 'Boys in the band' to name a few, with massive singalongs throughout. The atmosphere was electric, the crowd were loving it and it looked like the band were too. They were back on top form and played a flawless set. My favourite thing about seeing them live is Pete and Carl's Chemistry on stage and it seems to be back to how it was back in the day and just as genuine as it was then. As they share the mic and whisper to eachother between songs it feels like something really special to be a part of.

They played new tracks 'Gunga gin' and 'Anthem for doomed youth' which received just as good of a reception as the old tracks, ending the set with 'The good old days'. The crowd were chanting for more and after a few minutes the boys in the band were back for a five song encore playing 'Barbarians', 'Up the bracket', 'I get along', 'What a waster' and 'Don't look back into the sun'. We had stood at the side for alot of the set as we always get a good view there without dying in the craziness, we also had pints of red wine and didn't fancy spilling them all over us. But as soon as the wine was gone we headed into the crowd, within seconds we were both on the floor with people on top of us. After being helped up we embraced the craziness and jumped around singing our hearts out, the crowd was absolutely mental and we got threw all over the place with sweat dripping all over everybody. It is always so much better down in the action and when everyone was shouting out 'Don't look back into the sun' it was such a great moment to witness.

At the end of the track the band (half toppless now) said their thankyous and took a bow before throwing themselves into the crowd. It was absoute carnage I had bleeding toes and bruises all over but it was one of the best gigs I have ever and will probably ever go to. I never got to experience the small gigs the first time round and maybe won't again so I'm so happy I got to see them in such an intimate setting. Their new album 'Anthems for doomed youth' came out on friday and If you haven't got it already go get it, it's a banger!!!

For the gig I wore my black lace trousers, a favourite piece of mine from this summer. Teamed with this crochet and fringe lime crop top and long floral kimono. Finishing off with my lime bag, rainbow holographic sandals, beaded choker and hoop earrings.
