What I'm wearing..... Giant Vintage & Denim on Denim!!!

I'm having a bit of a nightmare with my hair at the minute and after accidentally turning it red last week I'm in the process of trying to fade it out to have another crack at this orange. So ignore the 50 shades of red/orange my hair looks in this post. I recently got sent five fab pairs of sunglasses from Giant Vintage, they came in a cool package with some miniature tootsie rolls.

From top to bottom:

They have an amazing selection of vintage and vintage inspired sunglasses that are absolutely perfect for summer and the festival season with some of their more unusual styles. They are so reasonably priced and the shipping was super quick to say they came from the U.S.

I'll be sure to be featuring all these pairs over the next couple of months as I do love a pair of sunglasses in summer. But first up we got a bit of sun this week so I wore the fun fun gold/sd pair. I love round sunglasses so this classic 90s style is perfect. I did find the frame came up quite small though and only just fit my head so bare this in mind if you're thinking of ordering.

I wore my new A line button front denim skirt, I'd been eyeing up the Topshop one but didn't fancy the price tag, so after seeing this one in Primark for only £10 I had to have it. I teamed it with a slightly off the shoulder vintage crochet top. It's still been on and off weather wise so I wore my vintage denim jacket for a double denim look. Teamed with fishnets, cream frilly socks, cherry red bethans and my cream granny bag.

SlamDunk Festival!!!

So I had quite a busy bank holiday filled with lots of festival fun starting with SlamDunk Festival on the Saturday. We went to the North leg of the festival which is in the city centre of Leeds. It was SlamDunk's most ambitious year at Leeds with the site moving around and the main stage being outdoors at the Millenium square. With alot of the stages being outside it was lucky the sun did show its face and it was a warm evening or it may not have turned out quite so well.

We got our wristbands and headed straight to the main stage to see our first band of the day 'Pvris'. I'd been really excited to see them as I've really got into them recently and love their debut album. We did miss the first couple of songs after rushing about as checking in at the hotel took so long. Lead singer Lindsey Gunnulfsen's vocals were on point and the whole band sounded great, I just wish the set was a little longer.

After that it was 'We are the ocean' on the main stage. They are another band that I hadn't seen before so was really looking forward to seeing them live. I've listened to their albums over the years but was never a huge fan until just recently where I've been listening to their material a lot more. Their new album 'Ark' came out a couple of weeks ago which I really love so it was nice to hear some new tracks from that. They did a good mix of new and older tracks and they sounded brilliant live.

After that we headed to the Macbeth stage just a short walk from the main stage. It was really good how a lot of the festival was self contained with barriers around certain areas and roads closed off. Alot of the bands we wanted to see were at the main stage so we didn't have to move around too much, but everywhere was close enough that you could get from stage to stage. We watched American pop punk band 'Cartel'. I'd only listened to them recently when I made my SlamDunk playlist but really liked their sound and as the band said they might not play the UK again for a while it was nice to get a chance to see them.

We had a bit of time to chill in this area so I actually remembered to take a few outfit pictures, although the backdrop isn't the nicest. I got this amazing cream lace jumpsuit from H&M a couple of weeks ago and had been dying to wear it. I thought it may be a little summery but as the sun was out I thought I could get away with it with a kimono. I kept accessories minimal with a couple of chokers, a backpack and my chunky nextrane sandals. I also got to wear my new orange round sunglasses from Primark which I love. It's safe to say after a full day of drinking and a lot of jumping around and drinks flying around it was not cream by the end of the night, oops!!

After that we headed to the o2 Academy to see 'Bury Tomorrow' they were a late edition to the line up and were only supposed to be djing this year. I absolutely love them so was so pleased they were playing, I also hadn't seen them live since their newest album 'Runes' came out, so it was good to hear tracks from that live. As always it was an energetic set with frontman Dan running around the stage and getting the crowd going wild.

There was a slight clash with the end of Bury Tomorrow's set as 'Lower than Atlantis' started before the end so we had to rush back to the main stage as soon they finished. They're a band that I have liked for a few years but over the last year or so I've started to love them even more. Their sound has got more commercial as the albums have gone on, with them getting alot more airplay on mainstream radio since their most recent self tilted album came out. They did do a mix of old and new tracks though, with the growing crowd singing along especially to big singalong tracks 'kids in America' and 'Here we go'.

We stayed at the main stage for the rest of the night with 'Don Broco' up next. They played an energetic set with plenty of singalong tracks for the crowd to go wild to. Lead singer Rob ran around the stage in his super tight jeans and certainly got the crowd going. We had a bit of time to take some snaps and have a few drinks inbetween acts and I must say it got very blurry after this point. But I guess that's what happens after a day of drinking, sun and forgetting to eat!!

Next up were 'Taking back Sunday' I'd love to tell you about the set but I really can't remember that much of it, I do know that it was rather fab though and lead singer Adam was looking extremely fabulous!

The final act of the night was headliner 'You Me At Six' they are one of my favourite bands so I was super excited. I was a bit annoyed at myself as I don't remember as much as I'd of liked after too many rum and cokes. They did play a fabulous set though and as promised played older tracks they haven't played for a while to celebrate their 10 year anniversary. The crowd were definitely happy with the old stuff with everyone shouting back every word and things getting a little crazy with mosh pits all over the place. We did get pretty close to the front so did get flung around a bit but we was having too much fun to care. It was such a good set and they played for nearly an hour and a half which is a good lengthy time for a festival slot. Unfortunately my friend either lost or got her phone pickpocketed in the craziness of the crowd which did put a dampener on the night. So we didn't end up going to the afterparty as we were trying to sort that, then opted for a dominos at the hotel. After over 10 hours of drinking we maybe needed to call it a day anyway, I'm not what I used to be, must be getting old!!!

It was such a fab day and with the sun shining it got me super excited for summer and the rest of the festival season!!!

Forest Green & Fiery Florals!!

In a couple of my latest posts I mentioned a few charity shop bargains I picked up, this post features another bargain I got in my mini haul that day. This fabulous forest green shirt, I have so many vintage shirts often oversized and a little big but I really like them that way and prefer them loose anyway. I love this colour anyway but think it's suits my hair colour really well here. I loved the pleated detail to the front too and at only £2.99 it was a steal. I teamed it with a floral skirt I got a while back from work which actually matches my hair really well too with it's fiery orange and red flowers. I kept accessories simple with a layered chain and bracelet. I matched the reds with some red lace socks with nude dolly pumps and a cream bag. I love the colours of this outfit together and it has a real vintage feel which I love!
